Two Perry County men have received recent prison sentences for drug-related crimes.
Perry County State's attorney David H. Searby Jr. announced over the weekend that Kelvin J.J. Penson, 20, of Du Quoin; and Bryan K. Rice, 35, of Pinckneyville both have been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections so far in March.
Penson was sentenced after pleading guilty March 1 to the offense delivery of a controlled substance, a class 2 felony. Penson was sentenced to serve four years with a two-year mandatory supervised release period. Penson also received an impact incarceration recommendation for his sentence based on eligibility.
Rice was sentenced March 10 after pleading guilty to the offense of possession of a controlled substance, a class 4 felony.
Rice was sentenced to serve one year in the Illinois Department of Corrections with a one-year mandatory supervised release period.
