Saline County – Saline Valley Conservancy District honored outgoing trustee Bob Prince of McLeansboro at his final board meeting on Thursday, Jan. 12 after many years of service.

The meeting was his 540th and marked the anniversary of his 45 years on the board. Prince joined the SVCD board in 1972 and became treasurer in 1974.

During that time Bob only missed 16 meetings (special meetings which conflicted with prior commitments).

Saline Valley has grown tremendously during Mr. Prince’s tenure.

What started out as a River Conservancy District established to maintain the channels of the Saline River has grown into a multi-million water treatment and distribution facility.

Bob was instrumental in the growth and development of Saline Valley. Bob served on the board this past year with his grandson, Kyle Ingram of McLeansboro who has assumed the duties of treasurer.

Board President Brandon Morse presented Mr. Prince with a commemorative clock at the Thursday meeting.

The Saline Valley Board of trustees and employees expressed their gratitude to Bob for his years of service, commitment and dedication to Saline Valley.
