Betty Towle
<span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Towle, 80, of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:55 am, Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at her residence in Harrisburg. </span>
<span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">Betty was born on April 22, 1936 in Harris- burg to Andrew Jackson Butner and Mildred (Sisk). On August 5, 1956 she married Ed Towle and he survives. </span>
<span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">Betty was a teacher for 35 years, most of which she dedicated to teach</span><span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">ing first grade. She was </span><span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg and a charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. </span>
<span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">Surviving family members include her husband: Ed Towle of Harrisburg; two daugh- ters: Kelly Kirkbride and husband Kevin of Collinsville, IL and Libby </span>
<span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">Towle-Arredondo of Harrisburg; one grand- daughter: Eve Arredondo of Jonesboro, Arkansas; special family friends: Ed and Mary Ann Topper of Harrisburg; caregivers: Kim Saar of Harrisburg and April Fowler of Harrisburg. </span>
<span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Mildred Butner, and special family friends, Bob and Mary Ozment.</span>
<span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">Her body has been cremated and memorial services may be held at a later date. </span>
<span style="font-size: 10.000000pt; font-family: 'Georgia';">Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or the Alzheimer's Association in her memory. Reed Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.</span>
