A Gallatin County man charged with more than 250 counts of sexual assault posted bond and was released from Saline County Detention Center.

Ronald C. Yarber, 48, of Equality, who is charged with 16 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and 240 counts of criminal sexual assault, posted a $25,000 cash bond Tuesday.

According to the Saline County Circuit Court, Yarber's alleged offenses occurred between June 2004 and September 2009. He was formally charged with Saline County Courts on Nov. 6.

Illinois state law dictates that anyone convicted of a predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a Class X felony, receives a sentence ranging from six to 30 years. Criminal sexual assault is a Class 1 felony with a range of 4 to 15 years.

Yarber is scheduled for trial on Feb. 24.
