Regional pairings announced for next week
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Illinois High School Athletic Association released the seeds for upcoming Regional play that this year in Class 2A will include both Eldorado and Harrisburg in the same class.
In softball, Harrisburg is the No. 2 seed at the Carmi-White County Regional, while Eldorado grabbed the No. 4 seed.
The Eagles will play No. 5 seeded Hamilton County on Monday, May 14 at Eldorado. The winner will then play No. 1 seeded Carmi on Tuesday, May 15 and Harrisburg will play No. 3 seeded Fairfield on Wednesday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m. with the championship game slated for Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m.
In Class 1A,m Galatia is the No. 1 seed, followed by Hardin County, Pope County, Norris City-Omaha-Enfield, Gallatin County and Carrier Mills.
NCOE will host Gallatin County on Monday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m., while Pope County will host Carrier Mills on Monday.
Galatia will then play the winner of NCOE/Gallatin County on Tuesday May 15, while Hardin County will play the winner of Carrier Mills/Pope County on Wednesday, May 16.
The championship game is slated for Saturday, May 19 at 1 p.m. The winner will advance to the Cobden Sectional, which feeds into the Carbondale Super Sectional.
On the baseball side, Harrisburg has the No. 1 seed in the Harrisburg sectional on the Class 2A side that also includes Eldorado this year.
Massac County is the No. 2 seed, while Vienna and Carmi-White County are No. 3 and 4 respectively. Hamilton County and Eldorado round out the final two.
Carmi-White County will play host to Hamilton County on Monday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m., while Eldorado will play at Vienna on Monday, May 14 at 4:30.
Harrisburg will play the winner of CWC/Hamilton County on Wednesday, May 16 at Dorris Heights at 4 p.m., while Massac County will play Vienna/Eldorado Thursday, May 17 at 4 p.m. The championship game is slated for noon Saturday, May 19 at Dorris Heights. The winner will move on to the Robinson sectional.
In Class 1A, Carrier Mills is the No. 2 seed at the Goreville Regional and will play No. 3 seeded Crab Orchard on Thursday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m., at Goreville, while the Bearcats, the No. 1 seed will play the Pope County (4)/Thompsonville (5) will play Wednesday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m.
The championship game is slated for Saturday at 11 a.m.
Gallatin County is the No. 1 seed at their own regional and will play the winner of Norris City-Omaha-Enfield (4)/Galatia (5) on Wednesday, May 16 at 4:30 p.m. The winner of the Hardin County (3)/Grayville (6) winner will play No. 2 seeded Webber Township Thursday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m.
The championship game is slated for Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m. Both winners of the Goreville and Gallatin County Regional will move on to the Marissa Sectional.
