Lambert: Saline County 4-H rally set for Monday

Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the Annual Saline County 4-H Rally from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 at the Eldorado Elementary Gym. All youth in the county and their families are invited to attend.

This is a Find-Out Party for our Saline County 4-H program. If you have ever wondered just what 4-H members do, how much fun they have, what skills they learn while preparing and exhibiting projects, what really happens at the Fair, come to the rally to find out! Our 4-H members and leaders will be glad to answer your questions.

County 4-H Clubs will have booths set up with games to play and food to buy. Food items for sale will include: caramel apples and bananas, popcorn, hot dogs, pizza, crazy walking tacos and baked goods. In addition, thirsty rally guests can purchase water, sodas and lemonade.

You can help someone in or out of the 4-H Jail or play a fun carnival game, including Plinko, Basketball Shoot-out, Hole-in-One Golf, Rubber Band Target Shoot, Laser Tag, Cake Walk, Bowling and Horseshoe Toss.

This year, our Saline County 4-H Rally community service project will benefit Heaven's Kitchen. This free weekly meal program is available to anyone from 5 to 6 p.m. each Tuesday evening at the First Presbyterian Church of Harrisburg Annex, located at 21 W. Locust Street in Harrisburg.

The staff at Heaven's Kitchen has asked for the following food items to help with their meal preparation: canned corn, canned green beans, canned mixed vegetables, instant mashed potatoes, spaghetti and sauce, macaroni, penne pasta, cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup and cake mixes/icing.

Please bring one or more of these items to the 4-H Rally. We appreciate your generosity. Saline County 4-H will be delivering the food items to Heaven's Kitchen on Tuesday, March 5, and staying to volunteer.

See you at the 4-H Rally!
