Michael Hillegas DAR chapter hears about human trafficking

The March meeting of the Michael Hillegas Chapter NSDAR was held at 9:30 a.m. March 17 at the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg.

The members enjoyed many refreshments while learning about human trafficking from Amy Niebel. The program was very enlightening about this horrible problem affecting our communities. Niebel is a volunteer with the Illinois State Baptist Association and travels all over the state helping with this problem.

Those present at the meeting were Regent Sharon Tanner, Janice Hall, Sharon Pyle, Lisa Thomas, Oma Nell Farmer, Kathy Morris, Shelia Albright, Delores Vick, Candy Evans, Christy Short, Joy Richey, Karen Vinyard, Myra Mauterer, Delores Payne, Debbie Fromm, Myra Mauterer and guest Amy Niebel.

The next meeting will be at 9:30 a.m. April 21 at the First Baptist Church in Harrisburg.

We will be presenting Community Service Awards to Ms. Georgia Murphy and Ms. Colleen Alvey for their constant service to our community.
