Red Hats for God gather at Red Onion

The Red Hats for God gathered on Dec. 5th at the Red Onion restaurant in Equality for the group's annual Christmas party.

Queen Mother Betsy Evans and Rhinestone Cowgirl Phyllis McDaniel decorated tables with various snowmen, sleighs, penguins, and Santa hat favors. They also sprinkled Christmas candy for all to enjoy.

Queen Mother Betsy presented her Queen's award to Phyllis for helping with decorating and for getting her to the meeting early.

Queen Mother also had a large Christmas stocking filled with special gifts from her to each member.

The gathering opened with Lady of Song, Rita Bramlet, singing two beautiful Christmas songs. They were "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem" and "Christmas Everyday."

After the blessing was given by Rita, the group enjoyed a delicious lunch.

Members exchanged gift cards by playing a pass-around game.

Members also played a game called "Dirty Santa." For this game, members started with three prizes and four chances to win them. Ruby Red Hat Queen of the Red Hat Mascots, Beth Morse, read a story in which members had to pass the gifts left or right as she read the story. The winners of this game were Ritzy River Royalty, Emma Smith, Baroness of Buttons and Bows, Elizabeth Rittenberry, and Lady of Glitz, Mollie Uselton.

Bible Bingo was played next with Empress of Elegance, Joan Wilson, Cinderella In Waiting, Mary Smith, Lady of Grace, Carolyn Dunn and Lady Shopping Diva, Delores Sharpin, winning prizes. The black-out game was won by Rittenberry.

The door prize was won by Wilson.

"Happy Birthday" was sang to the two birthday girls - Cinderella In Waiting, Mary Smith and Dunn.

The group's next gathering will be at BBQ Barn in Harrisburg at noon on January 2nd.

Those present but not mentioned were Shirley Harris, Sharon Johnson, Shirley Cain and Roma Wilson.
