Lambert: Saline County 4-H taking part in food drive; can you help?
Saline County 4-H is partnering with WADI to collect food for its Christmas dinner baskets. We invite you, the public, to help with this worthy cause. From Dec. 1-15, we will be collecting food items for Christmas dinner baskets to benefit the elderly and those with disabilities in our county.
WADI is requesting cranberry sauce/canned fruit, green beans, corn, stuffing mix, boxed/canned potatoes (instant mashed, scalloped, au gratin, sweet potatoes), brownie/cookie mix and macaroni and cheese.
Please be as generous as you are able, and drop your items in our collection box here at the University of Illinois Extension office, 912 S. Commercial St., in Harrisburg.
Federation Christmas party
The Saline County 4-H Federation will host its annual Christmas party at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at Dorrisville Baptist Church in Harrisburg.
We will have a gift exchange, and members who wish to participate are asked to bring a $5 wrapped exchange gift suitable for anyone.
Please RSVP no later than Monday, Dec. 4, so we will have enough food for all. See you there!
Leader information
Club enrollment forms, club report forms with a list of club officers and goals, committee forms, etc., are all due in to the Extension office by Friday, Dec. 15. Individual members and adult volunteers are encouraged to enroll by Dec. 15 using 4-HOnline.
To get started, go to our Saline County 4-H website at https://protect-us.mimecast.com/s/K2YQBgu0GASR?domain=web.extension.illinois.edu. Scroll down to "How to Enroll Through 4-H Online" and "Letter to New Member" to get all the details. Documents include information on payment options, enrollment fee, waiver for enrolling more than three youth in a family, etc.
Members must enroll in at least one project in order to continue through the 4-HOnline screens. Additional projects may be added later.
Families who are re-enrolling do not need to create another family profile. 4-HOnline carries over all of last year's projects and publications. Members must delete any of these not wanted for this 4-H year.
Remember, the enrollment fee is $20 per member, including Cloverbuds. Members may join 4-H and enroll in a project any time before May 1, 2018, to be eligible to exhibit in the 2018 4-H shows.
Leaders, please bring in your driver's license and insurance card, so we can make a copy for your files.
