SIC collecting cleaning supplies for hurricane victims

HARRISBURG -- Southeastern Illinois College's student government program is accepting donations to send to hurricane victims in Texas and Florida.

The program is hosting a "fill a bucket" drive through Monday.

In particular, cleaning supplies are sought in the donations drive.

Requested supplies are all-purpose cleaning spray, bleach, buckets, dish soap, empty spray bottles, disposable face masks, gloves (lates, non-latex and work gloves), heavy-duty trash bags, sponges and vinegar.

Those wishing to make donations are urged to fill a bucket with the requested cleaning supplies and drop it off by noon on Monday at SIC's Visual and Performing Art Center lobby.

The Hands of Hope Foundation will distribute the donations to the disaster areas.
