Harrisburg library Crime Lovers Book Club meets again

HARRISBURG – The community room in the basement of Harrisburg District Library last Monday night looked like it could be an episode of CSI: Harrisburg.

There's a crime scene board, and a tabletop is filled with individual case files.

But these "case files" actually contain information about various fiction crime novelists, and sit next to a display of some of the library's popular detective books.

Ray Gorman, a library worker who directs the Crime Lovers Book Club, said the genre has proven to be quite popular with regular library patrons.

"Everyone who comes has his or her own favorite writers, and we have some very good discussions," Gorman said. "We always try to make it interesting."

He also clarified the club's name.

"We don't love crime. We love the solving of crime," he said, laughing.

The club meets periodically throughout the year.
