Homemakers unit hosts 'Mystery Plant in a Bag' evening

The Ledford Liberty Belles unit of Saline County Homemakers hosted its annual "Mystery Plant in a Bag" evening on May 2 at the home of Wanda Pearcy.

A short game was played for a plant, and everyone went home with a garden surprise.

The meeting opened with the creed, followed by roll call, which answered the question, "Have you watched barges go through the locks?"

The minutes of the last meeting were read, and the treasurer's report was given. Material for the lesson, "Making Your Dollars Stretch," was handed out. Barb Lambert explained the schematic, so members could take the quiz and find out what kind of shoppers they are.

Shareen Rose won the white elephant.

Hostesses Dana Mulvaney and Romaine Short served refreshments to the following: Pearcy, Lambert, Rose, Wanda Raley, Debbie Zarbock, Lee Holt and Elizabeth Woodworth.

The next meeting will be June 6 at the home of Wanda Pearcy. Members are asked to bring a white elephant for exchange.
