Big crowds, good weather for Liberty Fest

"It ended up going very well," according to the Rev. Barry Steed, a pastor at Little Chapel.

It is hard to put a finger on the biggest draw since the event is so numerous, but the food and paintball were big hits, Steed said. Cooperation with other churches and word of mouth led to big crowds both days.

Liberty Fest always ends on Sunday with fireworks and a tribute to veterans and those who fell in American wars.

"The grand finale featured five of our Saline County World War II veterans, as well as a lady who just returned from Iraq," Steed said.
