Seven vie for title in Popcorn Days Beauty Queen contest, Sept. 8

RIDGWAY - The Ridgway Popcorn Days Beauty Queen contest at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8 features seven young women vying for the tiara.

Those contestants are:

Heather Smith, the 18-year-old daughter of Brad and Ronell Smith. She is a graduate of Harrisburg High School and is currently a student at SIC. Her sponsor is Jessica's Savvy Salon.

Amy Bourland, the 17-year-old daughter of Jimmy and Italy Bourland. She is a junior at Gallatin County High School. Her sponsor is Shawnee Communications.

Jessica Miller, the 18-year-old daughter of Terry and Christy McCarty. She is a senior at Eldorado High School. Her sponsor is Dinger Bats.

Raenah King, the 17-year-old daughter of Adam and Kristin King and Brian Steele and Stephanie King. She is a senior at Pope County High School. Her sponsor is Barnett's Furniture.

Addi Warren, the 17-year-old daughter of Greg and Julie Warren. She is a junior at Hardin County High School. Her sponsor is Carolyn Rush, in loving memory of the late Tim Rush.

Alicia Barton, the 17-year-old daughter of Tim Barton and Jamie Oldham. She is a senior at Gallatin County High School. Her sponsor is Raben Farms.

Shelby Rawlings, the 17-year-old daughter of Matt and Amanda Rawlings. She is a Senior at Pope County High School. Her sponsor is Accelequarter Raceway.

Contestants are judged in personal interview, casual wear, formal wear and onstage introduction. This year's theme, honoring the 60th anniversary of Popcorn Days, is "Harvesting 60 Years of Fun!"

Gabe Motsinger will emcee the beauty contest.
