Saline County Chamber of Commerce relocates

HARRISBURG - The Saline County Chamber of Commerce now has a new home.

After more than 10 years on the top floor at First Mid Illinois Bank and Trust, the agency has relocated to Harrisburg City Hall, a one-block jaunt.

The chamber shared previous office space with the Small Business Development Center, but that organization has moved to Southeastern Illinois College.

"Members of the chamber felt moving to city hall would be the best move for us to make," said Lori Cox, executive director. "We cannot thank the bank enough for its support over the years. They have been good to us."

The chamber is a nonprofit that is membership funded. It exists to lend assistance to local business owners in Saline County in respect to economic development and business building.
