Claudine Smith, 79, Harrisburg

Claudine Smith age 79 of rural Harrisburg passed away Thursday December 10. 2015 at her home South of Harrisburg.

She was born on November 11, 1936 in Bibb County Alabama to the late Claude and Ruth Miller Kornegay. She was married to Denver Smith on October 2, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2007.

She is survived by a Son: Phillip Smith of Wichita Falls, Texas; a Daughter Kathy (Rick) Lay of Troy, Missouri.

4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, a brother Ted Kornegay of Godfrey, Illinois and nieces, nephews,grand nieces, grand nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a Sister Janet Blankenship, and a brother Benny Kornegay.

Graveside services will precede burial at 11am on Monday December 14, 2015 in the Brushy Cemetery. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. Friends may call from 9am to 10:30am on Monday at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
