Republican Kim Buchanan will be serving another four years as Saline County Clerk and Recorder.
Buchanan received 4,695 votes or 59 percent to Democrat challenger Bruce Tolley"s 3,246 votes or 40 percent.
"I"m happy and excited to serve the people of Saline County another four years," Buchanan said.
In a campaign that took a late dark turn with political ads against each candidate, Buchanan said she personally chose the high road.
"I"m just very proud to say I"ve run an honest, clean campaign," Buchanan said.
Buchanan said thanks all of the election workers this election season who have worked hard to serve the voters and have learned new state election rules. Now it"s time to get back to work.
"I don"t claim to be a politician, I"m a public servant. I want to continue to uphold the oath I took," Buchanan said.
She intends to resume being fiscally responsible and keep her office within or under budget.
"I want to get as much grant dollars as I can for this department to continue moving forward serving the people of Saline County," Buchanan said.
A call left with Tolley for comment was unreturned by press time.
