  • Charles Clarence Tucker, 88 of Eldorado, passed away 1:54 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

  • Charles Clarence Tucker, 88 of Eldorado, passed away 1:54 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
    He was born on June 4, 1926, in Eldorado, the son of Clarence and Laura Pearl (Freese) Tucker. Charles married Barbara Ann Skaggs on Dec. 31, 1948. He was retired after 32 years as an assistant postmaster in Eldorado and also operated the Skaggs Jeep Dealership also in Eldorado. A army veteran of World War II, he was also a member of the First Christian Church of Eldorado, Eldorado Lions Club, Eldorado American Legion/VFW, Eldorado Masonic Lodge and Southern Hunting Club.
    Charles is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barbara Tucker of Eldorado; a daughter, Sue and Ron Ledford of Plover, Wis.; three grandchildren, Bryan Lee and Julie Ledford of Pickneyville, Charles Adam and Brandie Ledford of Sac City, Iowa, Cathy and Joseph Moran-Bonilla of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren, Mckenna Leigh, Jayla Ann, Charles Ian and Brylan Tucker Ledford and Zuly, Andrea and Christen Moran-Bonilla.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Roger Lee Tucker; one infant brother; three half brothers, Chester, Edward, Earl, and Herman Wilfong; one half sister, Audrey Reed.
    Visitation for Charles will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, at the Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014, with the Rev. Dennis Robison officiating. Burial will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery with military rites by Eldorado American Legion and the honors team.
