  • Eldorado’s Boz Adams Field looks to be getting a new score board.
    During the May 13 meeting of Eldorado school board, Head football coach Brandon Hampton made a presentation on a request for the purchase of a scoreboard for the field.
    The total cost is 21,429. $10,000 of this money was raised by coach Hampton through donations. The rest will be paid for by the district using one cent sales tax money.
    During the meeting:
    The board approved bids for the 2014-2015 year of Southern FS for fuel, Bimbo Bakeries USA for bakery, Prairie Farms for dairy, Cintas for fire extinguishers and Harrisburg Pest Control for pest control.
    The board approved the school calendar for the 2014-2015 school year with a start date on Aug. 18.
    Resignations were accepted from Unit 4 band teacher Ben Austin, Dakota Street for JV basketball, Billy Tippett for eighth grade basketball, Chad Albers for seventh grade basketball and Scott Boyd for freshman football.
    The board approved a math club trip to St. Louis on May 19 with no cost to the district.
    Superintendent Ryan Hobbs reported on the district receiving a $50,000 Maintenance Grant, and a $31,000 school safety grant.
    The board approved the employment of Christina Couty as math teacher for the 2014-2015 school year.
    The board approved the employment of Chad Albers as JV basketball coach, the employment of Kevin Dowdy as freshman basketball coach, employment of Cathy Pilkington as middle school assistant softball coach.
