  • Galatia-Thompsonville’s Emily Reed had a grand slam, while Eldorado’s Caitlyn Stafford had a pair of home runs and Michaela Laswell had a solo shot as the two teams combined for 13 hits as the Bearcats edged Eldorado 9-6 Friday in prep softball action.
    Laswell and Reed combined to strike out 19 as Reed picked up the win for Galatia-Thompsonville, going the distance and allowing six earned runs on six hits while striking out nine.
    Laswell struck out 10 for Eldorado, allowing six earned runs on seven hits.
    Stafford finished 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and two runs scored, while Stephanie Oker had the only other multiple hit game for the Eagles, finishing 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Laswell finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
    Reed went 3-for-4 with seven RBI and two runs scored.
    Elizabeth Sloab, Brooke Burris and Katie Linsley all had a hit. Kylee Brown and Burris each scored a pair of runs, while Larissa Bond, Lexi Johnson and Linsley scored the other runs.
    Eldorado led 2-0 after Laswell’s solo shot in the fourth inning and took a 4-0 lead through five and a half innings when Galatia-Thompsonville stormed back with a five-run fifth, followed by a four-run sixth.
