  •  A strong second half wasn’t enough of a surge for the Eldorado girls’ basketball team Thursday night in a 39-35 Black Diamond Conference loss on the road.
Eldorado pushed the issue in the third quarter, outscoring the Foxes 11-8 and put up a good fight in the fourth quarter, despite being outscored 18-14.
The issue for the Eagles came in the first half, when Eldorado could only muster 10 first half points as they trailed 13-10 at the break.
Jacqlyn Artman led Eldorado with 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and a 2-of-3 mark from the free throw line.
The Eagles got six points from Taylor Goodley and Erica Graczyk, while Abby Steed and Kourtney Phillips each finished with four points.
Paige Zertuche returned the lineup after an ACL injury this summer to tack on three points and Dresdyn Bramlett finished with two points.
Eldorado returns to action Saturday, when they travel to Herrin in a out of conference matchup against the Tigers.
