Harrisburg Police have a man in custody related to the 9:09 a.m. Thursday armed robbery of the Old National Bank branch on Rollie Moore Drive, Harrisburg, though he is not believed to be the man who actually held the gun on the bank teller.
According to the Saline County Detention Center inmate log book, Shawn Thomas Gregory, 38, 308 N. Sherman St., Harrisburg, was arrested 2:35 p.m. Oct. 17 held on charges of a Department of Corrections Warrant, armed robbery, obstructing justice, aggravated robbery, possession of a controlled substance, delivery of controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle. He remains held at the Saline County Detention Center without bond.
State's Attorney Mike Henshaw said he had not reviewed the police reports as of 9 a.m. Friday to make a final determination on what charges to file.
"Depending on what the reports say I will determine whether to charge Gregory with accountability or conspiracy," Henshaw said.
There is a second suspect named Casey Heflin who is believed to be the man in the bank robbery photos holding a gun on the teller. Henshaw said he understands Heflin was last seen in Carbondale.
Henshaw said police located a gold passenger car owned by Heflin is being held by police and believes Gregory's vehicle is being held also.
Prosecution will be handled at the local level with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Harrisburg Police and the Saline County State's Attorney's Office investigating.
The suspect — now believed to be Heflin — was reported as a white male, between 6 feet 1 inches and 6 feet 2 inches with a baseball cap, goatee and weighing about 190 to 220 pounds.
