  • Eldorado falls at Hamilton County, Harrisburg loses at West Frankfort

  • The Harrisburg High School volleyball team lost in straight sets to West Frankfort 25-20 and 25-19 Thursday night at Max Morris Gymnasium.
    Devan Jones and Whitney Younger led the Bulldogs with 10 hits, while Jones finished with five kills, two blocks, three assists and one stuff. Younger had eight digs, one block and one stuff.
    Hayley Thompson and Ashley Ferrell each had eight hits and one kill a piece. Thompson finished with three blocks, while Ferrell came away with five digs. Audree Morecraft had five hits and two assists.
    Malayna Douglas had seven service points with two ace, along with 32-out-of-34 set and three digs. Brittany Reynolds finished with four service points, 18 sets and five digs. Parker Upchurch finished with five service points, one ace and one dig. Hannah Bartok had four points and finished with 10 digs.
    The Harrisburg junior varsity knocked off West Frankfort in straight sets, winning 25-12 and 25-21, while the freshmen club went the distance against the Redbirds, losing 17-25, 25-20 and 8-15.
    McLEANSBORO — The Eldorado High School volleyball team lost in straight sets to Hamilton County 25-7 and 25-19 Thursday night on the road in Black Diamond Conference action.
    Erica Graczyk went 5-for-5 on serves with five points and had five spikes with three kills, three blocks and one kill.
    Kourtney Phillips finished 3-for-5 on spikes with three kills and went 4-for-6 from the service line with five points and one ace. Sadie Steed had one spike, one kill and went 1-for-3 on serves with three points.
    Abby Steed was 3-for-3 on spikes with three kills, including a 5-for-5 clip on serves with four points. Dresdyn Bramlet was 3-for-4 on serves with three points, while Mary Mitchell had six points.
