James R. “J.R.” Boulds, 78, resident of Eldorado passed away Thursday September 26, 2013, at Ridgway Manor in Ridgway.
J.R. was born Feb. 1, 1935, in Equality, to the late Roy Edward and Threasa (Wargel) Boulds. J.R. served in the US Army. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eldorado, Eldorado Men’s Club, St. Mary’s Mens Club, Eldorado VFW and the Ridgway American Legion. J.R. served as Saline County Township Road Commissioner for 16 years. He owned and operated J.R. Boulds Trucking for 56 Years.
He married the former Carolyn Prather who survives. They were married 49 years and 6 months. In addition to his wife Carolyn, J.R. is survived by five children, Kevin (Janie) Boulds of Eldorado, Dennis (Tammy) Boulds of Creal Springs, Brady (Teresa) Boulds of Eldorado, Audree Boulds Harrelson of Eldorado, Brian Boulds of Eldorado; three sisters, Loretta Masulla of Eldorado, Sarah Fromm of Ridgway, Mary Ann Riecken of Elberfield, Ind.; grandchildren, Cristy Jo Boulds, Eldorado, Donald James Boulds, Eldorado, Abram Boulds, Eldorado, Austin Boulds, Creal Springs, Logan Boulds, Eldorado, Noah Boulds, Eldorado, Ely Boulds, Eldorado, Sheree Harrelson (Daniel) Townsend, Harrisburg, Jacob Harrelson, Eldorado; great-grandchildren, Daylen Rogers, Braylen Rogers, Aiden Boulds, Zayne Boulds, Paizlee Townsend; one brother-in-law, P.D. Prather of Eldorado; two special devoted friends and long time employees of J.R. Boulds Trucking, SuAnn Mitchell and Kern Bynum and other friends and relatives to numerous to mention.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Boulds; six siblings, Simon Boulds, Bill Boulds, Edward Boulds, Lawrence Boulds, Bernice Drone, Anna Marie Hobbs; a grandson, Joel Boulds; and one great-grandson Keaton Boulds.
A mass of Christian Burial will be said 11 a.m. Monday Sept. 30, 2013, at St. Mary’s Church in Eldorado with Fr. Abraham Adejoh, Fr. Steven Beaty and Fr. Joseph Lawler officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Equality with military rites. Friends may call 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home. A prayer service and Rosary will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. In addition to flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St. Kateri Raise The Bells Building Fund, or in the form of a mass to St. Mary’s Church.
