    Accelaquarter Raceway gates open 4:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday with time trials at 6 p.m. and racing starting at 8:30 p.m. The newly rebuilt drag strip is north of Harrisburg on state Route 34.
    Liberty Fest at Little Chapel Church will draw thousands for free food, entertainment and contests 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The church is north of Harrisburg on state Route 34.
    Memory Lane AutoFest opens at the Saline County Fairground 9 a.m. Monday and runs all day with awards given a 3 p.m. Contact Brad Crick at (618) 926-4565 for information.
    Closures
    The Illinois Department of Employment Security offices and post offices will be closed Monday.
    Secretary of State driver services facility which is always closed Monday will be closed Saturday in observance of the holiday.
    Enforcement
    Harrisburg Police are conducting their Labor Day Enforcement Campaign with extra duty officers watching for traffic violations. Drivers should expect a roadside check to be set up somewhere in the city during evening hours.
    Illinois State Police District 19 troopers launch Operation Fatal 4 over the holiday weekend, one of the busiest driving periods of the year.
    Troopers will be enforcing the four  most common traffic violations associated with fatal traffic crashes: Speeding,  DUI,  failure  to  wear  a  seat  belt,  and distracted driving. Troopers  will saturate the interstates and roadways looking for violators.
    Troopers will also be on heightened alert monitoring intelligence from the Statewide Terrorism Intelligence Center for any suspicious activity, vehicles,  special  alerts  and  criminal  activity  crossing state lines. Law  enforcement  officials  added that roadside safety checks have already been  deployed  leading  up  to the holiday weekend, and these patrols will continue  throughout  the  holiday weekend.  Troopers will also be equipped with radar and LIDAR devices to monitor motorists exceeding the legal speed limits.
