  • Jase Robertson, one of the sharp-dressed men from Duck Dynasty fame, will be doing a speaking engagement, dubbed Quack Attack, at the Carterville High School at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, according to a release from Taylor Motor Company.
“We are expecting a sold-out event,” Carterville Booster Club Representative Angie Watts said. “This is a fundraiser and the money we make will be used to offset all expenses for sports at Carterville High School.”
Because several area schools are now charging students to play sports, and cash-strapped families are struggling with the cost, Watts said the Booster Club has been looking for ways to make it possible for all students to participate.
A limited number of tickets will go on sale for the Quack Attack this Saturday, July 20, but ticket sales officially begin Monday, July 22. Several event sponsors will be holding contests in the upcoming week to give away tickets.
Robertson’s inspirational presentation will be about his faith, family values and the secret of success. His family’s business, Duck Commander, which produces duck calls, has become the focus of A&E’s highest-rated show ever.
Several event sponsors are getting in on the fun of Duck Dynasty fever. This Saturday, Black Diamond Harley-Davidson in Marion will host a ticket pre-sale beginning at 1 p.m. The first 300 people who buy a ticket will get an exclusive event-branded T-shirt.
The following Saturday, July 27, Auto Credit of Southern Illinois in Marion will be hosting a "Look Like a Duckman" event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The family-friendly event will encourage participants to dress like their favorite Duck Dynasty character.
Winners in each age category, from babies to seniors, will win free tickets to the event. One grand prize winner will take home a pair of VIP tickets valued at $200 each, which earns the winner a personal Meet & Greet with Jase Robertson.
“I think this is tremendous,” Auto Credit Marketing Director Nic Skovgaard said. “Everyone in the office is thrilled to be involved in this. To get the ball rolling we’re putting together a look-alike contest and will have activities for the entire family.”
For more information about the Auto Credit event and contest, go to Auto Credit of Southern Illinois at www.goautocredit.com. Advance tickets may be purchased from Black Diamond Harley-Davidson at Saturday’s pre-sale July 20 at 1 p.m.
Tickets formally go on sale Monday, July 22, and may be purchased at Black Diamond Harley-Davidson. Ticket prices for Quack Attack are Reserved Bleachers $40, Handicap $35, Reserved Seating $60, Standing Room Only $35 and VIP $200. VIP tickets include a Jase Robertson Meet & Greet, photo and autograph session, as well as VIP seating and parking.
