  • ISP blames alcohol, texting in Hamilton crash

  • Michael J. Wiseman, 31, Harrisburg admitted to texting while driving prior to crashing southbound on state Route 142 near Hamilton County Road, according to a release from Illinois State Police District 19.

  • Michael J. Wiseman, 31, Harrisburg admitted to texting while driving prior to crashing southbound on state Route 142 near Hamilton County Road, according to a release from Illinois State Police District 19.
    Wiseman lost control of his Ford Taurus and crossed the northbound lane of traffic, struck two mailboxes on the east side of the road and ended up in the ditch on that side of the road, according the ISP.
    He was transported by by Harre's Ambulance Service to Hamilton Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
    McLeansboro Police Department assisted the ISP at the crash scene. J&R Towing, McLeansboro removed the vehicle from the scene.
    Wiseman was charged with driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and texting while driving.
