  • Forrest M. Jones, age 81, of Osage Beach, Mo., passed away at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his home from cancer.

  • Forrest M. Jones, age 81, of Osage Beach, Mo., passed away at 8:20 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his home from cancer.
    He was born in Eldorado on June 14, 1931. He was the son of the late Bert and Elizabeth (Wiley) Jones and brother to the late Fern Johnson, Elbert Jones, Sybil Lawrence, Wayne Jones and Darlene Hemmerich.
    Forrest was raised in Raleigh and graduated from Eldorado High School. He was an active member of the 4-H, Raleigh Baptist Church and he served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 in Alexandria, Va. He worked as District Sales Manager for Melroe Bobcat Company for 25 years. Since his retirement and relocation to the Lake of the Ozarks, he attended Riverview Baptist Church where he was a standing Deacon. He also enjoyed golf, fishing and the St. Louis Cardinals.
    He married Shirley Grimes of Harrisburg in 1953 and they had one daughter and three grandchildren. They were married for 43 years until Shirley passed away in 1997. Forrest married Barbara Link of Jefferson City, Mo., in 2000 and enjoyed becoming a part of her family including her three children and five grandchildren.
    He is survived by his daughter: Rhonda Jones-McKinley of Bonita Springs, Fla.; three stepchildren: Pam Adams of Burlington, Iowa, Bryan Link of Columbia, Mo., and Gayle Link of San Francisco, Calif.; three grandchildren: Angela Pignatiello, Mark Pignatiello and Adam Pignatiello; five stepgrandchildren: Alyssa Finder, Kourtney Adams, Luke Adams, Christopher Link and Landon Link.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Kendall Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in Raleigh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Raleigh Cemetery, P.O. Box 103, Raleigh, Ill. 62977.
