  • Roy Adams, administrator of the federal Community Development Assistance Program grant for those in Harrisburg who had damage in the Feb. 29 tornado, says the grant has reached its goal with money left over.
“And I’m hearing there are still people out there,” Adams said.
He said there is about $200,000 available for rehabilitating or rebuilding homes and believes eight to 10 households could benefit. His predication was 25 homes could be rehabilitated and 10 could be rebuilt new. That goal is being reached with the final homes in the bidding process.
“The only thing they have to have to qualify is storm damage,” Adams said.
“The program is comprehensive. It addresses more than what was damaged in the tornado. If the bathroom floor is falling in, that was not caused by the tornado, but we  would fix it.”
Those who received damage in the tornado who have not spoken with Adams may contact him at 713-8409 to see if they qualify, contact Harrisburg City Commissioner John McPeek or contact Harrisburg City Hall at 253-7451.
