William Donald “Buddy” Emmons, 50, of Harrisburg, departed this life 5:42 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind., surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 19, 1963, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., on Elgin Air Force Base to Margaret Emmons and the late Donald R. Emmons. He attended Harrisburg High School and most recently worked for Luhr Bro. Barge Service.
He is survived by his mother: Margaret Emmons of Harrisburg; two daughters: Casey (Mike) Bartlett of Galatia, and Destiny Emmons of Crab Orchard; son: Jaydon Emmons of Eldorado; four sisters: Ladona (Jim) Davis, Linda (Chris) Orndorff, Paula (Jeff) Fulkerson, and Beth Martin; five nieces: Jennifer (Tom) Terrell, Melinda Thacker, Kelcie Martin, Hannah Davis, and McKenzie Orndorff; two nephews: Justin Fulkerson and Montana Martin.
He was preceded in death by his father: Donald R. Emmons on Jan. 30, 2011; grandparents: Walter and Lucresia Small and George and Polly Gott.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Barry Bascom will officiate. Burial will follow in Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
