Barbara Ann Tate, 77, Harrisburg, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at her residence in Harrisburg.
Barbara was born on Nov. 9, 1935, in Texaco to the late Roy and Leona (Lowery) Hawkins. On Dec. 27, 1950, she married Davis E. Tate and he preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 2003. She was a member of McKinley Avenue Baptist Church and the Red Hats Club.
Surviving family members include a son: Dennis (Debra) Tate of Leesburg, Ohio; son: Roy (Aline) Tate of Marrero, La.; daughter: Pam (Terry) Hale of Harrisburg; brother-in-law: Jerry Tate of Mobile, Ala.; grandchildren: Chrissy, Dennis, Lance, Heather, Amber, Davis, Taemi, and Bret; great-grandchildren: Chassidy, Kendyl, Trent, Samantha, Shaylee, Maison, Alexis, Lylli, Dacey, Dalton, Harlyn, Ashlyn, Sahara and Haley; four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Charlie Allen will officiate. Burial will follow in Panther Fork Cemetery in Texico. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McKinley Avenue Baptist Church Homebound. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
