  • With most of Gina Griffin's seniors out on a senior trip, the Eldorado High School girls' track and field team was a little short handed, but the long time coach couldn't have been more impressed with what she saw Thursday.
Sadie Steed took second in the triple jump, going 29'2'' and finished third in the long jump, clearing 14'4''. Dempsey Hankins placed second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:48 and finished fourth in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:33.
Erica Graczyk took fifth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 4'4''.
Griffin said that Ashley Brown stepped in and ran the 200 meter dash alongside Steed, while Dresdyn Bramlet and Jacqlyn Artman threw the shot put and discuss.
"Jacqyln improved her shot put even though she usually does not throw the shot at meets this year. Sarah Baldwin competed in the 100 hurdles and the 100 meter dash even though she is battling a leg injury. I am proud of what the girls did today, no matter if the placed or not."
Eldorado's next contest is May 1st at Chester for the Black Diamond Conference meet.
