  • The Harrisburg High School boys' track team finished second out of 16 teams at last Friday's Buzz Bradley Invitational at Sparta.
    The Bulldogs won six overall events with DJ Duncan winning the 110 hurdles with a personal best time of 14.3 and the 300 hurdles with 39.3. He broke the meet record in both hurdle events.
    Capel Henshaw won the 400 with a time of 54.0 and all three sprint relays took first place with the 400 meter relay team finishing with a time of 44.9, the 800 meter relay team finishing with a time of 1:34.2 and the 1600 meter relay team finishing in a time of 3:32.
    Isaac Ingram also broke the meet record in the shot put with a toss of 53'5" but his throw was good for second place as Waterloo bested Ingram.
    Snowy Bjornsson rounded out the second place finishes in the triple jump along with Preston Boone in the 400, Austin Lowry in the pole vault.
    Caleb Bishop got third in the pole vault, along with Isaac Ingram in the Discus, and Corbin Crim in the 100 meters and 200 meters.
    At Edwardsville Saturday, Harrisburg took part in the Winston Brown Invitational and 10 Bulldogs competed against 2A and 3A schools.
    Duncan won both 110 and 300 hurdles. His time of 38.64 was a new meet record.
    Isaac Ingram finished second in the shot put and eighth in the discus.
    The 400 meter relay team of Duncan, Crim, Bjornsson and Logan Hartley finished eighth.
    At the freshman/sophomore Marion Invite Tuesday, Harrisburg placed first out of 15 teams.
    Harrisburg garnered 81 points, while finishing ahead of Centralia (74), Marion (72), Mt. Vernon (70) and Herrin (64).
    First place finishes went to Lowry in the pole vault (11'6''), Corbin Crim in the long jump (20'9''), Kane Carrigan in the shot put (40'7'') and Corbin Crim in the 200 meters (22.7).
    Carrigan finished second in the discus, while Crim finished second in the 100 meters and Hartley took second in the 400 meter dash.
    Third place finishes went to, Branden Duffield (triple jump), Bahari Amaya (high jump), Michael Victoria (800 meters), the 3200 meter relay team (Victoria, James Curtis, Adarsh Manawa, Mitch Daniels), the 400 meter relay team (Dustin Lane, Aaron Stephens, Bailey Drone, Branden Duffield) and the 1600 meter relay team (Victoria, Curtis, Manawa, Daniels).
