Ralph E. Banks, 79, of 920 Veterans Drive, Eldorado, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born in Raleigh on March 3, 1933, to the late Olan and Sarah (Wright) Banks. He was a coal miner for AMEX coal company. He was a member of the Eldorado VFW and the American Legion.
Surviving are his children, three sons Mark (Brenda) Banks of Eldorado, Rusty Banks of Iowa, and Tommy (Tonya) Moore of Yokum, Texas; and two daughters, Debra Peters of Portage, Ind., and Kathy (Butch) Rigdon of Portage, Ind. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by one brother, Richard (Brenda) Banks of Eldorado; and a sister, Sharon (Gary) Holmes of Shawneetown.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dale Banks, Gale Banks and David Banks and a sister Patricia Banks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday March 3, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time of 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
