Over 150 attended the Saline County Chamber of Commerce's 2013 Annual Banquet at the SIC Foundation Building Thursday night.
Awards were presented following a dinner of barbecue pork.
The small business of the year award went to Raymond James Financial Services and was accepted by Michael Tison. The firm donated a portion of its facility to the effort to help storm victims with financial matters.
The large business award went to Bulldog Systems which removed storm debris following the tornado. The firm also donated containers which were used to collect school supplies for the children of Saline County. Dan Hanson, Joey Younger and Theresa Lewis accepted the award.
Volunteer coordinator Jerry King received a STORM recognition award. The STORM organization assisted over 300 families following the tornado.
King pointed out that STORM was successful because there were 6,000 volunteers and he named many of them and their organizations.
Chamber President Angela Rowe pointed out that STORM was still meeting and helping to rebuild shattered lives.
