Delmar Gene Lacey, 82, Harrisburg, passed away at 7:13 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
Gene was born on Sept. 29, 1930, in Gallatin County to the late Fred and Geneva (Dempsey) Lacey. On Dec. 3, 1954, he married Ola Irene Predmore and she preceded him in death on Feb. 16, 2002. He was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. Gene was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed hunting for Indian relics, collecting coins and took pleasure in feeding the various birds and squirrels in his yard.
Surviving family members include his three daughters, Teresa (Greg) Richey of Carrier Mills, Penny (Ray) Stanley of Harrisburg and Brenda (Steve) Knight of Harrisburg; five grandchildren, Brad (Holly) Vinyard of Harrisburg, Brooke (Kurtis) Brown of Carrier Mills, Ben (Hilary) Vinyard of Norris City, Jackson (Megan) VanDyke of Evansville, Ind., and Nikolas (Tresa) Fort of Galatia; two great-grandchildren, Preston and Lydia Vinyard of Harrisburg; stepgrandchildren, Erin (Chris) Street, Jamisen and Hayden, B.G. Richey, Gary Stanley, Cody and Valerie, Nancy (Christopher) Pemberton, Jessica, Alexia, and Nina; special cousin, Larry Bob Winters and family, Ina.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel, Harrisburg. Brad Vinyard and Jackson VanDyke will officiate. Burial will follow in Loyd Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisburg Golden Circle.
