Jackie Eugene Robinson, 82, of 1000 S. Rosevelt Ave. Harrisburg, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at the Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born in Eldorado July 22, 1930, to the late Harry and Flossie (Frohawk) Robinson. He was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Operating Engineers 150 in Country Side. He was a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Harrisburg VFW Post 2878, a life member of Berwyn VFW Post 2378 and Hillside Post 3590. He was a member of the Oasis Community Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife Linda (Sanders) Robinson, Harrisburg whom he married on Nov. 1, 1986. Four sons, David Robinson, Winnipeg, Canada, Kenneth Robinson, Glendale Heights, Keith Robinson, Addison, and Kevin Robinson of Woodstock. Also surviving are his stepchildren LaDonna Gibbs of Eldorado, LeRoy Gibbs, Gillespie and Brandi Morales, Harrisburg; 19 grandchildren,Andrew, Katie, Laura, Kenny, Nick, Nicole, Jaclynn, Matthew, Roselyn, Samantha, Robert, Clare, Dustin, Zachary, Chelsea M., Amber, Chelsea R., Anwaar and Bryce; great- grandchildren Liam W., Ella, Liam M., Michael, Hunter and Remington; one brother Harry Robinson, Oakbrook Terrace.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Janice Robinson on March 15, 1985, and by a stepson, Lonnie Gibbs.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday Feb. 16, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with Gary Clark officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery with military rites. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15 at the Watson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oasis Community Church of the Nazarene in his memory to the youth ministries.
