Jeffrey S. Edwards, 67, of Chicago, formerly of Carmi, died peacefully on Jan.18, 2013, in Chicago.
Beloved son of the late Jesse and Mary Emily (nee Wallace) Edwards. He is survived by his longtime (45 years) friend and companion, John Constant. He is also survived by his loving brother John “Jay” Edwards and his wife Pat; nephew Jay D. Edwards and his wife Nancy and their sons Dylan and James. Also surviving are his aunts, Louise Wilson of Eldorado, Nell Wilson of Harrisburg and Ruth Ellen Wallace of Harrisburg and his many cousins.
Jeff served in the U.S Coast Guard. He received his bachelor of arts at Northeastern Illinois University, and later a Paralegal Certificate at Roosevelt University. His years of employment started in the SW gas fields. From 1967 he lived in Chicago, working at a commercial photography studio, Jefferson State Bank, Steinberg-Baum Discount Store, and he served as Assistant Corporate Secretary for Chicago Northwestern Railroad. Later he became an independent licensed real estate broker and appraiser. As a condo owner, he was a member of the Admission/Sales and landscape Committees.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the funeral home until service time of 1 p.m.
