  • Scoring became scarce for the Harrisburg girls' basketball team Tuesday night in a 71-28 road loss at Massac County in Southern Illinois River-to-River Ohio Division action.
    Massac County jumped out to a 28-10 first quarter lead. The slow start only got worse as the Bulldogs scored one second quarter point, followed by 17 second half points.
    Hanna Jones netted a team-high eight points, while Lindsey Murray chipped in with six points for Harrisburg, while Ashley Ferrell finished with five points.
    Whitney Younger finished with four points, while Malayna Douglas and Lilee Robinson each had two points. Haley Thompson had a free throw in the loss.
    Massac County knocked down nine 3-pointers in the game, while Harrisburg finished with just nine field goals.
    The Bulldogs return to action Thursday when they play host to Herrin at Davenport Gymnasium.
