A house fire started in the attic at 314 Webster St. 11 a.m. Tuesday and consumed about half of the value of the home before Harrisburg Fire Department extinguished the blaze at 12:30 p.m.
Firefighters had to create two holes in the building's roofs to get at the source of the fire. The cause is undetermined at this time, according to Chief Bill Summers.
The rental property is owned by Diefenbach Rentals and was occupied by Anthony and Christina Yates, according to the fire report.
The Red Cross was making efforts to locate the Yates family at 1:30 p.m. to offer assistance since the home was no longer habitable due to heavy smoke and water damage, Summers said.
