Waldo Killman, formerly of Herrin, passed away at Neighborhood of Somerset nursing home, Somerset, Ky.
He was born April 6, 1923, in Harco to Claude and Gertie Killman. He married his lifelong sweetheart Colleen Wasson on March 24, 1946 at the Carrier Mills First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen; a son, David and wife Dana Killman, Somerset, Ky.; granddaughters, Amanda Killman of Orlando, Fla., and Chelsea Killman of Somerset, Ky.; a daughter, Rebecca and her husband Nick Jones, Herrin; as well as cherished family members Buttons Jones and Faith Killman.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Claude and Gertie Killman; sisters, Florence Killman and Aline Bell and her husband Edward Bell.
He was a veteran serving with the United State's Army in France during World War II. He was a deacon and 56 year member of the Herrin First Baptist Church. He sold Prudential Insurance and worked with his wife at Colleen's Holiday Tours. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Herrin Masonic Lodge.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Herrin First Baptist Church. Masonic rites will be observed.
