Hometown Journal is about life in any hometown, the people, and the events, the growing up years, the journey through life and the memories of days gone by.
Through the years, there are changes beyond anything you could imagine. Your youth sees as far as the comfort of a loving family, a town where most everyone knows each other and how simple and secure life is in those growing up days.
For a moment, all is perfect. Then, without notice, life changes and nothing is ever the same again. Those familiar school years are behind and an unknown world is in front of you. Friends move away, everyone scatters and the hometown you knew begins to change.
Years go by before you realize it. The image in the mirror has lost that youthful look. Wrinkles and gray begin to show and the aches don’t seem to go away. In what seems like a blink of your eye, you have aged. You have become your parents.
The path behind you is longer than the path ahead. Life takes on more meaning with each day. Moments are no longer boring for you hold on to them as long as you can. Memories are your comfort as you think about “once upon a time” when you were young. You smile and remember as you walk the sidewalks of your hometown.
