Boys Basketball: Mid Winter Pairings Announced for Bulldogs, Eagles

The pairings for the Carmi-White County Invitational Tournament, along with the West Frankfort Mid-Winter Classic were released Thursday morning.

Harrisburg will make the 30-minute trek north to Carmi, starting on Monday, January 14, where they will play Fairfield at 7:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Jan. 17, Harrisburg will play tournament host Carmi-White County at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Friday, Jan. 18 game against Mt. Carmel at 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs will wrap up the CWCIT playing Mt. Vernon, Ind., at 7:30 p.m.

Harrisburg, currently unbeaten on the season, has two wins against CWCIT competition as they beat Carmi-White County 78-30 in the Harrisburg Invitational and then got a road win against Fairfield, winning 74-32.

Eldorado makes a similar haul to West Frankfort, starting on Monday, Jan. 14 when the Eagles will play Carterville at 9 p.m. inside Max Morris Gymnasium.

Eldorado returns to West Frankfort on Wednesday, Jan. 16 to play West Frankfort at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Thursday, Jan. 17 at 9 p.m. against Vienna.

The Eagles have two wins against the group that makes up the Mid-Winter Classic, as they beat Vienna both times,  70-58 and 80-63. One of Eldorado’s losses was a 81-71 final against West Frankfort.
