Southern Illinois University men's basketball coach Barry Hinson announced at a press conference Tuesday that forward Antonio Bryer is staying with the team after all.
It was announced Monday that Bryer, a 6-foot-6 sophomore forward, had left the SIU men’s basketball team. Apparently Bryer has had a change of heart after Tuesday's Daily Republican went to press.
Bryer started three games this season and was averaging five points and two rebounds per game. The transfer from Fishburne Military School is a badly-needed inside presence for the Salukis (4-1).
Bryer had left the team for personal reasons, according to a news release. Hinson said yesterday that Bryer leads the team with a 3.4 grade point average.
