Loudene Day, age 88, of Harrisburg, passed away 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.
Loudene was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Saline County to the late Archie and Fay (Stewart) Dill. On Nov. 3, 1940, she married Ernie Day and he preceded her in death May 31, 2000. She was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church.
Surviving family members include a son, Ernie Day and wife Donna of Harrisburg; and their children, Shawna Pate and Mike Day; daughter, Marilyn Cool of Cornel; and her children Georgianne Keenen and Lori Howlett; daughter, Debbie Heil and husband Doug of Eddyville; and their children, Denny Wallace, Chris Wallace, Angie Perkins and Candi Switzer; sister-in-law, Loreda Dill of Marion; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, E.B., Bill, Archie and Lawrence Dill; and a son-in-law, Denny Wallace.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Dr. Jerry Ford will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois Blue East Team.
