Nina L. Modglin, 87, of Harrisburg in the Rudement community, passed away 12:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at the home of a daughter.
She was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Saline County, the daughter of Tom and Della Dunn Palmer. She was married to Kenneth Modglin April 27, 1940, and he preceded her in death Jan. 14, 1985. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Herod.
Surviving are two daughters, Wanda (Leon) Stilley of Equality and Brenda Gulley of Harrisburg; a son, James Modglin of Bunker Hill; a sister, Barbara Cox of Gary, Ind., eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Petey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; a son, Donald Modglin; three brothers, Virgil, Orval and Otis Palmer; and three sisters, Norma Modglin, Velma Palmer and Ruth Palmer.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
