  • Prep Volleyball: Herrin sweeps Harrisburg on hardwood

  • Herrin High School took all three sets in volleyball action Thursday night against Harrisburg, beating the varsity team 25-22 and 25-18.
    In the junior varsity game, Herrin won 25-11 and 25-20 and in the freshmen game, Herrin took two out of three, winning 25-13, losing 25-20, but completing the sweep with a 15-11 win.
    In the varsity game, McKenna Stanely had six kills and 20 spikes and seven service points, while Shelby Boer finished with three kills and 12 spikes. Jordan Stewart had two kills, six spikes, 10 service points and five digs, while Kaitlyn Hutchinson had a kill.
    Ashley Ferrell went 12-of-16 on digs and Marcella Motsinger was 21-of-22 in sets with five assists and nine service points. Brittany Reynolds had 25 good sets and five assists.
