The district is preparing to roll out a portion of the Power School program that will revolutionize grade-keeping.

"The student information system software includes ability for parents to get online and look at attendance and grades," Harrisburg High School Principal Karen Crank said.

Harrisburg School District officials plan to send letters to parents about March 6 explaining the process.

"On March 23 we will open the portal so parents can get on the Harrisburg (School District) Web site to download directions and frequently-asked questions," Crank said.

Every parent will be assigned a user name and password. Those may be requested after the March 6 letter is delivered. As teachers post grades, they will be available online through the public portal.

At the high school, students also will be able to register for classes through the portal on the Power School program, Crank said. Students will begin registering in early to mid-March.
