Prep Softball: Bulldogs flip the script against Benton

Harrisburg flipped the script against Benton in an 11-1 win Tuesday at Center Field in SIRR Ohio action.

The Bulldogs (16-5 overall, 4-2 SIRR) had just two hits in an earlier loss to the Rangerettes, but cranked out 14 in Tuesday's victory.

Layla Borders and Kerrigan Payne each finished 3-for-4 with Borders driving in a team-high three RBI and Payne finished with a pair of RBI.

Liza Wiggins was 2-for-3, while Sidney Neal, Kinzleigh Smothers, Abby Stacey and McKenzie Boyd all had one hit with Neal, Smothers and Stacey each driving in a run.

In the circle, Kerrigan Payne improved to 14-5 with a six inning performance. Payne's run was unearned, while giving up five hits and striking out seven.

The Bulldogs will close out the week at Murphysboro.
