Prep Girls Hoops: Eagles knock off Gallatin Co. on Day 1 of LEMWC

Eldorado began its defense of the Lady Eagle Mid-Winter Classic with a 51-39 win over Gallatin County Saturday at Duff-Kingston Gymnasium. The Eagles opened up with a 14-8 first quarter lead and took a 24-14 lead into the locker room. EHS outscored Gallatin County 15-10 in the third quarter to take a 39-24 advantage into the final eight minutes of action.

Lily Mosby led EHS with 20 points, while Adrianna Hendricks finished with 14 points.

Karis Lane scored seven points for the Eagles, while Alexa Haenel and Kylee Oglesby each finished with five points.

Gallatin County got a game-high 23 points from Carly Foster, including 11 of the Hawks' 15 points in the fourth quarter.

Sidney Bickett scored eight, while Jenna Vickery and Kenzie Russell each finished with four points a piece.

Also on Saturday, Goreville knocked off Harrisburg 53-37 and Fairfield beat Carmi-White County 38-29.

Chelsea Davidson had a team-high 10 points for the Bulldogs and Kinzleigh Smothers netted nine points. Kameron Adams scored seven points for the Bulldogs, while McKenzie Boyd finished with four points. Frankie Leigh Nicholes tacked on three points, while Kailyn Moss and Vershay Guyton each tossed in two points.

Joppa had to drop out of the Lady Eagle Mid-Winter Classic, canceling its game with Vienna.

<b>Eldorado 62,Carmi-White County 43</b>

Eldorado put four players in double figures including a game-high 18 points from Alexa Haenel in a 62-43 Black Diamond Conference win over Carmi-White County late last week.

Lily Mosby and Adrianna Hendrix both had 12 for the Eagles, while Kylee Oglesby rounded out the double figure scoring with 10 points.

Karis Lane added eight points, while Emilee Sigler scored two points.
